Name: Robert (Bob) Clark

Robert (Bob) Clark grew up on the family farm in Earlville Iowa, in 1942 Bob enlisted in the Army.  Bob was only 17 years old at the time, so he listed his age as 18 and was accepted into the Army.

Bob was sent to Florida where he went through infantry training.  Bob was then transferred to Kearney, NE. where he underwent training for the ball turret gunner on the B-17 Bomber, which required someone small enough to fit in the glass turret that hung from the aircraft, and Bob fit well.

Each B-17 crew member had to fly 25 missions before they would be eligible to go home.  Bob flew a total of 53 missions over Germany during World War II.

Bob, originally from Earlville, IA. married his wife Mary in 1946 and today they reside in Cedar Rapids, IA.  Bob is 95 years young.
